Why would Klingberg sign a one-year contract? I don't think at all that he suits us and he is looking 8x8.

We have no need for Bjork, plus we need to be rebuilding right now, not contending.

Interesting idea, trying basically to Hall Klingberg.

Don't see it happening though. He's looking for a multi-year deal, probably at max term.

The hawks just traded the future and extended Seth Jones to a massive contract, they're not going to be rebuilding, they're going to look for ways to compete next year, Bjork obviously isn't the answer to that.

Kyle Davidson's first two trades as GM: Alex Nylander for Sam Lafferty and Chad Krys for Kurtis Gabriel. The hawks got the older player in both trades and never gave Nylander another shot after his surgery. They also never gave Krys a chance. Very odd moves for a team that would be rebuilding.

You honestly think that in our current situation we should be trying to contend? We're a bottom 10 team. As for Davidson, I can't say anything about those moves. I'm not a fan, but they are relatively minor moves.

Compete next season, absolutely. While they're relatively minor moves, rebuilding teams would give both players a shot to see what they're made of. This season is a perfect opportunity to see what the younger players in Rockford are made of. Nylander hasn't played an NHL shift since his injury, how could they be rebuilding if they're not giving players like him another shot? They have nothing to lose, why trade young players for more 4th liners? It just doesn't add up.

We're in no position to contend. Do you honestly think we can beat Tampa, Colorado, or Florida in a 7 game series? This year was supposed to be a year we contended, look now. We also have a desperately dry prospect system. It's one of the worst in the league, our saving graces are Reichel and Commesso.

Depending on the offseason moves, yes there could be a very large turnaround. Look at what signing Panarin did for the Rangers. This year never amounted to anything because of Bowman and Colliton starting it off. If they can get actual hockey minds in the front office rather than a mid-30s coach that was only successful in Europe and a GM that got the job because of his father, yes, there could be major improvements. There are a ton of high quality free agents that could be available. You want prospects? Trade Kubalik, Strome, de Haan, and Fleury at the deadline. Kubalik and Fleury are each worth a 1st rounder. I would be very surprised if Connolly is still on the team come next season as well, I think he ends up in AZ.

Realistically, I doubt we trade Fleury. He had to uproot everything to be in Chicago, so I doubt that he would ever accept a trade from Chicago. I think Kubalik is worth a 1st as well, the issue is that he's been pretty poor in production this year, so I'm not sure other GMs would be willing to give a 1st up unless he came with an extension. As for Connolly, my issue would be that I don't want to give up large picks to get rid of his contract. I think we should just agree to disagree in this case.
