The purpose is creating additional cap space for off-season. We have enough to resign Hertl and Ferraro as it is now, but Gudbranson is out of contract at the end of this season and that money could go to adding an additional winger or higher end talent to support youngsters being brought on to the team. Bonino has another year on his deal and while he's been a great mentor, he'd be a better fit for a playoff contender like Calgary.

I was thinking about which prospect to add since I figured Montreal wouldn't think Balcers, Gregor and 2nd would be enough to pry away Toffoli. Which one do you have in mind if not Coe?
