agreed on Pavelski... the picks are subject to change for sure. the players are what I was after.

However, now that the Klingberg wanting out is public... usually that means pennies on the dollar.

God knows, but his production is currently at an all time low.

My guess is the Rick Bowness system is effecting his game big time, since Bowness came his numbers have really been on the decline. Before he came he was always a 70-80 point player and now he’s been bellow that pace since Bones was head coach. Segs has always been an offensive player all his career and Bones is trying to turn quite literally every player in our franchise to a defensive player.

Is there any logic to a Monahan - Seguin swap? Both players seem like they need a change of scenery. (deal balancing can be done too)

I'd probably be game. Seguin is obviously better than Monahan but his contract is far more risky due to its length if he keeps up declining.

Do you have a similar analysis on Seguin?

This ^

Plus it gives us massive cap flexibility for the future, if we theoretically get rid of Segs’s contract and after 3 years Benn’s contract expires, that gives us about 18 million in cap room, plus what we’d already have.

More or less. There's been glimpses of the old Seguin here and there but overall his game has taken a step down for whatever reason, and Bowness' system is a definite possibility. Seguin lives off through entertaining offensive hockey but if the team around him can't produce he himself is a bit alone in there. Gotta imagine that's as or even more frustrating for him as it is for his fans.

Do you think it has anything to do with his injuries?

Don't think so, but it's hard to fully deny the possibility. It's a fact that in between the timeline where Seguin was a beast and "not-so-much" a beast there was a severe injury in there. It's guesswork to analyze whether or not that still effects his play or not. But the speed and the shot he once had are still there.

Same issue here with Monahan, he still looks like he's capable of being that 60-80 point center but he's just super snake bitten right now
