You never understood my original point. The Panthers are looking to upgrade their D. It is the number 6 D, and depth that will hurt them in the playoffs. Rank them where you want, but Gudas and Montour are currently our 4&5D. We wouldn’t want to give up either of them for D help. So this trade doesn’t work for the Panthers.

Considering their cap situation, if the Panthers don't move out one of their own D-men, they have to look at moving out cap on the forward depth chart like Hornqvist or Vatrano.
