That trade makes absolutely zero sense for the Pens. None whatsoever. Why would they trade a top bottom six center for a mediocre dman?

Blueger isn't leaving Pens unless its a massive overpayment, too much of a fan favourite. Plus dermott sucks.

Not even close for Blueger. That trade doesn’t even happen without retention. You want Blueger retained then upgrade the pick to a 1st.

Yeah, it's a borderline silly trade. Aside from being a fan favorite, he's easily one of, if not THE best 4C in the league and when moved up to 3C is very solid and only $2.2M. He won't get moved and if he did, it would be to sure up another major need.

They tried that 1st line for 2 games and it got shut out both times. Don't want to try it again

Top bottom 6 makes about zero sense. I'm a big fan of blueger so Km not underrating him. The trade, as is, is pretty fair. Dermott is a lot better than he gets credit for as well. This isn't to say the pens would have any interest in swapping blueger with Dermott.

Edit: just noticed the retention... leafs would need to add most likely upgrade the puck to a 3rd at least.
