Q: What else would be needed?
A: For the Habs to give EDMs 1st back and also their next 3 unprotected 1sts.

A trade like yours would be the finishing blow to the McDraisaitl era in Edmonton. There would be no possibility of recovery after that.

Does any of that sound like the equivalent of 4 1st round picks (many of which are high)?

What is needed? How about granting the Oilers about another 10m in cap. 20 man roster...doesn't work. Nurse gets a 4m raise next year and other RFAs to sign.
Why do so many think other teams (in this case Oilers) can take on so much bad cap from Montreal.
And certainly it doesn't help Oilers this season....FYI. Price isn't playing.

That'd be a massive win for the Habs, get rid of two awful contracts and get a 1st round pick.

Hard to count now, how many 20-players posts you've posted and been Capped out to boot....

Maybe think Quality over Quantity??

Be a good New Year's resolution to brush-up on the NHL's team requirement rules for the member clubs - usually a good guide for aspiring NHL-ACGMs...

More like we know why you are a troll. Price has value even if small minded opposition fans think he is a cap dump. Montreal won't pay to move Price and won't have to retain more than 2 mil. Teams will require Montreal to take salary back but that is about the only thing that will be required. All of it is contingent on Price wanting a trade anyway and there has been nothing in the media that has confirmed that.

Every Oiler fan, "all we need is one more winger for McDavid and we're set."

At what point will you guys get it. You have no depth or defence and buying overrated guys from other teams for way more than they are worth doesn't work.

I would like to hear fans watch hockey and whose teams regularly make the playoffs. Check since the 1994, especially in the past seven years, that doesn't include the Habs.
For the ill informed, Carey Price has not played hockey this season and likely won't. No NHL GM (or even any knowledgable ACGMs) is trading their current goalie (Koshkinen) and multiple first rounders to watch Price skate around a practice rink.

Habs made the last two playoffs, Leafs havent, could get past the Jackets in the play in. And if you cant get out of the first round, how is it an accomplishment to brag about?

Price is getting into game shape and playing games before the trade is obviously gonna happen. Your comment of "likely won't" is a guess, just as much as someone saying he will return to allstar form. The only sure thing is he is currently getting into game shape, and will play when he is ready. Koskinen is a subpar goalie, I dont think its a huge risk to trade him for another goalie, especially one that is proven playoff performer.

I don't think it obvious at all that Price is gonna be ready to play by TDL. So while I'll admit "I'm guessing.", other shouldn't be say for fact that Price is ready to play this season.
Oilers aren't even a playoff spot currently. The Oilers shouldn't be trading potential lottery picks for an iffy goalie.
Heck Seattle didn't want Price for free...admitting it was 10.5 cap hit. So whether any GM think Price is worth paying lottery picks for even 50% Price is debatable. Of course if Price is so good and for good for the length of his contract, why do so many Hab fans want to trade him?

Top 10 protect the picks. Price will have another 3 years with them, he isn't a rental.

Habs want to trade him for 2 reasons.
1. We want to see Price who has bled for us to win a Cup, its not gonna be with us (Gallagher would be the same for be personally).
2. Price, if he stays in Montreal, will do what he always does, steal wins, save jobs (coaches/Gms), impede a proper rebuild.
