Two issues here:
1. I’m not sure some of these go through. Two 2nds for varlamov might be okay, but with a cap dump? I kinda doubt it. I don’t think anyone is just taking Barrie. Why does chicago take that?
2. This is exactly what i was talking about. Minor shake ups, refusal to trade anyone that can net a serious return, and thus, a mediocre product.

tbf who do the oilers have that would net a serious return that they actually might or should trade? the guys with real value are McDavid, Draisaitl, Bouchard, Puljujarvi and maybe Nuge. Nuge is the only guy out of those five that I'd actually move if I were them.

Hahaha that’s how this whole thing started. I asked someone if they would consider moving nuge, he flipped out, and this poster tried to make some weird case about how it was a ridiculous question to ask. He followed it up with this, which i think, if anything, proves my point.

What does Tbf mean?

oh it means to be fair lol. but i'm with you, nuge is a good piece and i don't even think he's the issue but the team has to change somehow. in an ideal world it's management that changes lol but they could get something good for nuge

Sheeeesh why does everyone refuse to use words these days? Not everything has to be a damn acronym.

I agree. Edmonton have this pattern. They realize the have to make some moves, and then refuse to do anything major. Tinker on the outside. Cycle in different bad contracts. Cycle in different depth. Lather, rinse, repeat. Typical oilers.

Such a good representation of the oilers over the last decade. Nice.

It's blatant when you have two of the best scorers in the league (In the mist of their prime) and can barely squeek into the playoffs just to get swept in 4 that you need to make a significant move.

Hes 21 as a goalie, jesus. Strome has played like 5 years already and only had 1 good one.

A career .57ppg guy who has 6 points in his last 10 games.

Would you give up Puljujarvi for an AHL goalie or a middle of the road prospect for that matter?

Puljujarvi has been a hell of a lot better than strome. Granted he plays with mcdavid but thats a terrible comparison. Stromes currently on pace for 32 points over 82 games. Last year he was on pace for 34. Personally i like strome and think he can become a ~50 point player but his trade value isnt there right now.

I agree his trade value is low, but this return hit a nerve. He actually has been quite good the last 10 games and is starting to find some rhythm although the lines keep changing. I think he could be that 40-50 point centre but I think he needs continuity and is a confidence player.

I agree with everything you said just at this tkme rn i dont see his trade value being much more than what i gave. Given his recent play does it make sense for chicago to sell low? No. But if they would this is all id give rn.
