even with a roster of 20 with AHL and contract minimum they are over the cap.
This doesnt take into account the probably 1Mill in bonus overages. so your at - 3.3 mill
also went low on JP Yamo contracts.

His solution just trade Ceci. well 1st you need a taker then you need to replace another RD
Then let JP and Yamo walk now you are replace 2 RW with wingers who are probably worse.

If a price to EDM trade were to happen im not sold it does. then it has to be with 50% retained.

Yes remove what little depth this team has and put it infront of a Carey price that hasn’t had a good regular season in 5 seasons. They’ll miss the playoffs as his numbers in regular seasons has been as bad or worse than koskinens

Price only been bad (eyes test) 2020-2021 regular season. The team sucks in front of him. Nothing he can do. He was bad in 2020-2021 like allowing bad goals for real. Not a goal on the 5th 2 on 1 in the first period … but Price is a top 10 goalie for sure easily, Vasy is #1 after everyone have different opinions. You have some Shesterkin, Price, Hellebuyck, Binnington, Gibson, Fleury, Saros, Demko, Blackwood. IMO the top 3 is Vasy #1 Hellebuyck #2 Shesterkin #3 but some GMs value Carey Price pretty high

This defense is as bad or worse than anything the habs have had for the past couple years. The current coach isn’t great either. I’d argue this team (especially after the moves necessary to become cap compliant are made) would result in a bad team (defensively) infront of Price and as you said if the team infront of him sucks. Sure price can be good under the right circumstances (assuming he can stay healthy both physically and mentally) but this team as constructed wouldn’t give him a good chance

Then we need new fans. Any franchise that refuses to rebuild, will be stuck in mediocracy. 32 teams, enough with the "we are too honourable", "we are too historic", "our fans will leave us" bullcrap. We cant be handicapping ourselves anymore, and if our fans leave, let them, they suck.

I agree, I really do but the problem is hockey like any sport is basically like a publicly traded company. The fans are the shareholders and the owners have to appease them. The same thing with requiring a French speaking GM and coach
