Is this a troll post? Why would Arizona give up Crouse AND take on the dead cap of Ritchie (who is on waivers) for a garbage prospect and a 3rd?

I think crouse requires more if you want him. Arizona has been on the up and up and I think they are talking like he has captain potential.

Because it's rule#1 on CFACGM. Leaf fans (not all) dumping their garbage on the other 31 teams while pretending it's realistic. Eating blue and white manure sandwiches.

I agree that's a heavily slanted trade towards Leafs favor. But don't generalize us Leafs fans as all being incredibly biased towards them! lol

Seeing that Ritchie is on waivers is interesting. I hope he goes unclaimed and then they can use him to navigate the cap to get to playoffs or even help add at the TDL. Having said that, the "experiment" with Ritchie hasn't even begun yet imo. The reason he was added was to address size and grit in the playoffs. The NHL is one of the only pro sports leagues where the rule book completely changes in the playoffs. So until we see if Ritchie helps them in the playoffs, his production in the season doesn't mean much to me.

Not all Leaf fans make biased trade proposals. There's just more of them so they're the loudest compared to other teams. For some reason the Leafs have had more luck having players get claimed on waivers. Maybe Ritchie does get claimed but it's unlikely.

I'm well aware of Hudson Bay rules in the playoffs but I didn't see Ritchie do much with Boston. He's just a classic case of a big guy, former first round pick getting multiple chances because he's a former first round pick. Ask Ducks fans about Ritchie. They got tired of waiting.

Dubas signed Ritchie after Boston didn't qualify him. He did very well signing Bunting and Kase so striking out on Ritchie doesn't really hurt them other than 2.5 mil less cap space. Waiving him opens up a little over a million to become cap compliant.

Waiting for Ritchie to be a good player in the playoffs is like leaving the porch light on for Jimmy Hoffa. You can do it and pretend it's a good thing. I call it selective justification. Cheer for the laundry. If my team does it then it's great. Another team does it and I'll say what I really think.
