Description
No I do not think the Murray trade is a good idea. But look who the GM for the oilers is and know that he is stuck in 2016. He has the sam eagerness to push his mistakes downt the road like Jim benning when getting rid of Erikson, Beagle and Rousell only to take on OEL for 6 more years, its a dumb idea I think Holland does to rid himself of Koskenin and get a "better, 2 time stanley cup champion goalie"

Ottawa is not spending the 35th overall pick to swap Matt Murray for Koskinen and Turris.

Try again.

edmonton doesnt need another Lucic in murray.

If edmonton was willing to trade Broberg the deal would be done. Nobody else is going to offer a better prospect.

Oilers are just better to have 6.25m in cap space next summer rather than Murray and a second. I don't think Ottawa does that deal because they have cap space. I see so many Oiler fans risking lottery pick(s) for Chychum. Really this team isn't all cap compliant next season when Nurse gets his raise and those RFA need to be signed

Ottawa likely has exactly zero interest in paying a high 2nd (more than they paid) to move Murray out while also taking on two cap dumps… hard pass.

like I said to another guy Melynek wants to save money, 1 year left of Koskenin at 4 vs 3 years left of Murrary at 6.25, Melynek has done moves in the past to save money and sacrificed draft capital I wouldnt be suprised to see him do it again

I think they should trade Broberg, Chychrun is his ceiling on a cheap contract. And yeah if you read my description I do no think the Murray deal should happen Im just looking at if from 2 of the worst hockey minds in hockey Holland and Eugene Melynek. Holland gets his "proven winner" and Melynek saves his money

I hear you but also keep in mind that Melnyk is an extremely proud person as well. He’ll do any and everything he can to avoid having someone else feel like they bested him. Given that, paying more to move Murray than you paid to acquire him is something that I couldn’t see him okaying. Let alone with the other cap dumps coming back as well.

What moves are you alluding to tho? The Ryan buyout?

If i remember correctly in the trade where they got Brown and Zaitsev, it was rumored they waited till after Zaitsevs bonus was paid and the Sens added a 3rd rounder because of it. I'm pretty sure that's the trade but yeah im not recommending this trade I'm just thinking maybe the two worst hockey minds get together and do something dumb
