Eichel only got that cause he was injured and there were questions surrounding his future. Had the Sabres allowed him to have surgery in the offseason and play a few games this year they would have gotten 4 1sts back like they wanted. The Eichel return is an anomaly since his value was tanked at the time of the trade.

Eichel isn't paid 2.1M$ doe... The value of a player isn't just his stat sheet.

I think MAF may be open to returning to PIT if there is a real chance at a cup. Its a home for him and I'm sure he still owns property in the area which would make the move a little easier for his young family.
