I dont really see a fit there with Boston, but other than that I think these are decent trades. You add another former Leaf (which seems obligatory to win a cup nowadays), and get a decent goalie. Im not sure what the Islander's status on moving Varlomov is considering they are currently low in the standing, but are still looking to compete, and Sorokin has been very good. The only thing is that you arent winning a championship with that defense group. Arguably a bottom 3 defense core in the league, which is unfortunate considering how important defense is to a championship

Really? Yamo is very good and young, plus more draft capital. In reality it wouldnt happen considering Sens management seems to think they arent rebuilding and Brown is a pretty big part of the team, but I think if they were building draft capital and youth, they should ponder that trade

Yeah I dont understand the fit between the two at all. Barrie is overpaid and plays zero defense. Doesnt scream Bruins hockey to me

I'm sure that's the best offer they'd get for Debrusk atm, Barrie quarterbacking the powerplay but otherwise on the third line. Chiarot definitely an upgrade over Barrie, I don't like the fact that has two OFD on the right side with Barrie and Bouchard. Chara is a nice little option since Laggesson wants out

On paper it sounds good, but Chara has been brutal. Again, I dont see it between the Bruins and Barrie. Oilers have really shot themselves in the foot with Lagesson, he looked good. I would hardly call Chiarot an upgrade over Barrie on the ice, I think they are both equally bad, but Chiarot makes less so I suppose he is an "upgrade" in that sense

Not to mention he’s fighting carlo and mcavoy for ice time on the right side. Just not a fit.

But that’s less than nothing to boston. They don’t want Barrie. They can’t use Barrie. He’s dead cap to them. It’s better to put debrusk on waivers than take Barrie. Or, better still, just keep debrusk?

Offer the Bruins Barrie for free and its a hard no.

Also, they have computers in nunavut?

Haven't had a computer in years but we got phones that plug right into our Igloos and still ride our polar bears to work 😅

Yamo is too small and skilled to be the kind of player DJ wants to coach.

And because of that, Pierre is out.

This is based on what?

Sens currently have an older and better version of him in Tyler Ennis. Yamamoto isn't needed at all. They need a legit top-6 RW to support Batherson, not a guy who just isn't good enough to be top-6

Bottom-6 is Connor Brown and Austin Watson with several candidates who will try to crack the roster in the near future (Ex : Egor Sokolov)

Can't blame you to not know more about the Sens situation but the "rebuild is over" comment was either lip service (giving Dorion the benefit of the doubt) or just Dorion being as clueless as usual.

The Sens have the worst ownership/management/coaching trio in the NHL, things are not easy for them.

One of the main reasons why the team is not progressing is because Pierre Dorion is simply incapable of providing the young core quality veterans to support them. Connor Brown is THE EXCEPTION

He's an "elite 3rd liner", meaning that he doesn't need to be in an offensive role (PP, offensive zone starts, etc) to produce numbers. He is a top PKer and excels at matching up against other teams best players at even strength

Ottawa needs MORE player like him, not LESS. Which gives you a bit of an idea why his value would be a lot more than Yamamoto and a 2nd, 2 pieces the Sens have no use for too.
