Doesn't make sense for Kapanen to be moved during the season but could absolutely see an offseason trade. Kapanen is an RFA after the season. Maybe a deal revolving around Kapanen for Rathbone. Rathbone will still be cheap and could play 2nd PP he's also really close with John Marino. Rutherford likes speed and Kapanen brings that. I could see Kapanen excelling under Boudreaus aggressive system.

I think Marino is more likely to go to Vancouver than Rathbone is to go to Pittsburgh, and such a trade would likely involve Brock Boeser
