It's getting really close between Savoie and Wright in my rankings. I just love watching Savoie play and I don't see a lot of flaws in his game. He's relatively small but he doesn't play like most players of similar size. Everything about him screams 1OA to me. I'm not one of "Wright-sucks" people, but I think it's as close as ever between the two.

Nicely done! Two questions: why so low on Jack Hughes, and where's Mr. Robertson?

Why Miro at 19? I agree he’s slipped a little, but I still think he shouldn’t be lower than like 13 or 14. I also think Jiricek’s injury will cause him to slip a little (at least 2 spots, I’d have Lambert and Slafkovsky ahead of him).

For Hughes, i just don’t quite see the upside, he’s talented, well rounded and fairly close to NHL ready but i just don’t see the high upside, for Robertson, as i stated, this is everyone I’ve currently scouted and i haven’t done him yet but he is on my radar, mainly due to you ranking him as a 1st while he’s an overager

Well Jiricek’s injury hasn’t factored into my rankings yet and neither has most players WJC appearance. Also, the top players are mostly interchangeable due to the depth of this class and the relative closeness of some of the players. For Miro, i just don’t see him reaching his high upside, while he has the potential to be a game changer, he won’t reach it imo and will top out max as a 2nd liner

I currently can’t see anyone passing Wright but we’ll see

Lambert’s scouting report was done before the WJC and while there’s an outside chance he goes top 5, this class is just too deep at the top for that imo

Yeah, Cooley can be a 1c easily, he shows such a well rounded game and maturity, one of the closest to NHL ready

Great list dude! Not going to question any rankings, we all can see things differently. As the season has progressed players that are rising in my eyes are:
Logan Cooley
Jonathan Lekkerimaki
Lane Hutson
Jiri Kulich
Calle Odelius

My Hot Take
Conor Geekie > Matthew Savoie
-player better in tight areas
-31 even strength points (Savoie 27)
-Shooting 9.9% (Savoie 17.6%)

I personally can’t see Geekie over Savoie, Geekie’s skating/balance makes him more of a project but if you think that’s easily fixable, then I guess there could be an argument, Savoie just has less concerns for me. For some of the rising players you have, it really depends on point of view, I really like Hutson, the offensive upside is high and the defence is decent but there are definitely some who will question his pretty small size. for some of these prospects, it really comes down to personal opinion ( Miroshnichenko is very polarizing )

Agreed I don't believe Geekie will be taken ahead of Savoie but IMO Conor will be the better NHL player. Anytime someone questions your work ethic/consistency, Miroshnichenko, should just raise too many alarms. Talent or not. And I think we all can agree trying to get a prospect board done correctly is like predicting a March Madness bracket. We've all seen players that have fallen and become superstars and players selected high and turned out to be busts. And who knows what GM/scouts are looking for.

Once the Draft is set I look forward to doing this again with team needs.

I think the GM Game draft is a great example of prospect boards being very different, we’ve seen players go miles ahead or behind their place IRL ( fun fact, in version 4 Chinakhov was drafted in 2019 as a 7th instead of 2020 as a 1st )

Just can't see Geekie > Savoie. Savoie's only real weaknesses are his size and limited reach, but if the modern NHL taught us anything, it is that size is overvalued. His acceleration could use a bit of work (just the first 2 steps), but it's not a real concern, more an area of the game where he could be even better. Savoie is the more dynamic and electrifying player. His Hockey IQ and passing ability are among if not the best in the whole draft class. Something just seems weird to me when watching Geekie. At times, his skating stride comes off as clunky and, as mentioned by @A_Habs_fan, he has to work on his balance. Now, I'm not one of those people who lets prospects (like Pastujov in 2021) fall a lot because of minor "skating concerns". Skating can be worked on most of the time. But he does fall a bit because of it due to other players in the same range (7-14) being far better skaters than him already. I also just don't see the level of skill with Geekie that Savoie has.
(I don't really get how a lower sh% makes a prospect a lot better. Shouldn't a player be drafted higher if they are more efficient with their shots? Obviously, that could be attributed to luck, but I don't think that's the case with Savoie.)
