I’d love Pavelski on the Oilers, but I feel like his NTC reads: “Canada”

Chara worth a third? In THIS economy?! Yes absolutely and no take backs...

Don't think any of these are really great for Edmonton, Pavelski probably blocks a trade north anyway but moving their 1st for a rental is the opposite of what Holland should do.

Should pass on Chara, getting Pysyk would be alright but Sabres fans say he's been good there and likely would want more.

He can agree to the Stanley Cup. I don’t know guys, I’m living in Chelyabinsk in Russia, and I don’t understand your Americans that they are so afraid of Canada, in my opinion it’s a great place, in terms of the weather Russia and Canada are identical, and I know what I’m talking about, the change of seasons is wonderful, and for the new year, the absence of snow is wildness for me, what good is roasted in the sun all year round?

Isn't Chara worth the third round? Is he really bad? I think Chara is a beautiful cup fighter.

Edmonton is in the here and now winning stage, so giving the first round for loan to Pavelski is a logical step.

It’s not really the weather, however I bet that plays a role. I think a lot of people don’t want to go to Canada because of taxes and the government. I will agree I have some relatives from around Nizhny Novgorod and the weather of Russia really is beautiful if you love the cold like I do

While I agree Edmonton needs to make moves to win now I disagree with trading 1sts for rentals especially teams in undesirable markets, teams like Edmonton and Winnipeg need to treat their 1st round picks like long term investments, not piss them away on short term gain with no guarantee.

He's just too slow. His size isn't enough anymore. I think he's cooked

All contenders for the cup change their first rounds to achieve momentary results, such are the current realities, if you don’t take risks you will not reach the cup, I understand sorry for the first round, but believe me, the playoffs will take place, followed by a draft, and if Edmonton wins the cup, and I believe in this, no one will even remember that we spent the first round to achieve the goal. Look, you need to take hockey players on fire to the cup, really those who can give results, otherwise take another middle-class hockey player, of whom we have so many, and pay for him, let's say the third or even the second round, why? Let's say we take Domi, Hurtle or Kassel, although I'm not sure that we will be able to get them in just the second round, no manager will give us gifts, because the deadline market for the best hockey players is an overpayment, just like the free agent market. Well, so we take, for example, Domi, Hirtl or Kassel and in the playoffs in a critical situation, when you need to take the initiative into our own hands and recoup the conditional Vegas, Colorado or Winypeg, I doubt that these hockey players will be able to do this, and Pavelski I I'm sure he can, like that.

I can’t see Buffalo having ANY interest whatsoever in Turris,
and Pysyk is a guy i think we are gonna try to re-sign

So you’re gonna have to give up more than a 5th to get us to give him up & take on your cap dump

I get that but there's no guarantees and if they trade their 1st for a rental and are a first round exit you'd be beyond pissed.
How many times did the Caps make big deadline moves that got them nowhere but the year they did almost nothing they won the cup.

I just watched the Oilers lose and they need work, adding Pavelski wouldn't be enough to push this team over the top.

Minimum needs I see are two decent to good bottom six forwards, a #3/4 LHD, goaltending help.

If they could get Toffoli he might be worth parting with their 1st for, they'd get three playoff runs out of him, he's won cups and had decent playoff runs with the Kings/Habs and has a manageable cap hit, he would also push Yamamoto down which would make the 3rd line a lot better.

At the expense of protection, I agree with you, we need an experienced guy for the third pair, like air.
Goalkeepers' position in Edmonton is ambiguous. Smith has become a frequent lomat, Koskinen is a good second goalkeeper. Adding a goalkeeper on loan for the first round is not worth it, that is, Fleury is not suitable for us, only if he gets it in the second round, then I agree. Holtby is good right now and is more likely to be worth the second round, and he also hails from Alberta and has a good age, so this is also an option. But I think we need to trust our goalkeeping team. If Smith breaks again, I think I should trust Skinner. Skinner has great potential, I consider Halliback's level. Everyone started somewhere and were not experienced, I think we need to give a chance, I think he will cope.
And Pavelski or Toffoli is a debatable question. I think Pavelski will be more useful, you will be different. One thing I know about this playoffs, Edmonton and Holland have to take the risk and pay the first round to hire the best striker available, it will work. I consider Pavelski the best, he has tremendous experience, leadership qualities, he is right-handed, good at throw-ins and he is a born sniper. And then if the team even loses, but loses not weak-willed, but by fighting and surrendering completely, no one will blame Holland. The playoffs will pass, the draft will immediately follow it, and if we give the first round of 2022. We will again have the first rounds of the next three years at our disposal, and no one will remember the first round of 2022. The main thing is to take risks and give yourself without a trace to win, both Holland and Tippett, for example, also concerns Dreiseitl, otherwise he literally walks on the ice lately, it upsets.
