Hoffman is not worth a first, Dvorak is not worth a first, chairot is worth a first for a team like avalanche or maple leafs, not worth a first for Edmonton, Allan is not worth a first, and somehow, you think those 4 packaged together is worth 4 firsts, plus turris and Barrie? Wow. Okay aha

Wow this is terrible for the Oilers, maybe if it was Toffoli instead of Hoffman and the Habs were taking Kassian instead of Barrie it wouldn't be quite so bad but as it is here this is just brutal for Edmonton.

Hoffman is retained your pick will be among the 20th or 30 rank if you win yeah Holloway is a huge payment but the rest are gambling at best. Koskinen Turris are at best jersey filler. Allez (not Allan) is a better suited guy for your team and yes chiarot retained value is a freaking 1st cuz there is 10 teams out there .... Barrie is among so many AGM on your side I did take him because he can be somehow useful to us, you want a better trade, start discussing players not your sentimentality. I did read it, Hoffman is useless, you're asking for the equivalent of four 1st round picks from the Oilers, you need to stop proposing terrible trades.

The Oilers first PP unit plays pretty much the entire PP so there's not much time for the 2nd unit, the last thing Edmonton needs is a defensively challenged winger like Hoffman.

Hello sir…. Now I know you have been getting a lot of comments from other fans, but none from a smart oilers fan haha. I’m not here to roast you about the trade, although I will tell you my thoughts. So we are getting Hoffman, and Chiarot with retention, plus Allen, Dvorak, and a fourth for Barrie, Turris, Koskinen, a first, and 3 of our best prospects (Bourgault, Broberg, Holloway), I do like the idea of Barrie going to Montreal, and Chiarot coming to Edmonton. Chiarot can help with our overall game, and Barrie can help your guys PP. Dvorak is making a little much to be a 3c, as he would be on the oilers, and we have McLeod as our 3c, and he’s playing very well. Allen is not needed as we need a starter IF Smith retires. If not, we won’t trade, nor sign a goalie. Hoffman won’t help us at all, and we can’t afford him long term even with the retention. He is a solid PP guy, but our PP is the best in the league. Bourgault, Broberg, and Holloway all have more value than those guys honestly, as they are all very good prospects. I wouldn’t even trade one of them for any of those players. This is just my opinion.

I know that dvo is seen as a center but can also be a lefty, for Hoffman would you prefer Toffoli to entice a deal, I also can snap out the first in 2022 if this could help us in both ways. So what can we do to come to agreement on a proper deal?

Can Toffoli, or anyone good besides Hoffman play on the right side? If so, what would be the asking price. We have a massive void at 2RW. I like Nuge, Hyman, and Foegele on the left side, so we probably wouldn’t need a left winger. I would love to have Chiarot on the oilers… is there a way we can work out a trade with him coming to the oilers, and maybe Barrie going to the Habs?

Awesome! What about Kassian, a second, and a third? Kassian would be an awesome addition to the habs especially if they choose to rebuild! And he has 12 points so far this year. He is playing very well. He is just making a tad bit more than he should (3.2M for 2 and a half years). You would save 1M, and receive some picks. I also think maybe Barrie, and a low pick can get us Chiarot. Barrie is still good, just Bouchard is better. The pick would be because Barrie has more years, more money, and is a offensive defence man.

Kassian as a past in MTL and media wouldn't like to see him back so it would be a backlash for us more than a normal trade, sorry.

Okay makes sense. I forgot Kassian played for Montreal. What about Toffoli, Chiarot 50% for Barrie, your choice of Lavoie, or Savoie, and a third? We can trade Kassian somewhere else.
