No reason to think he couldn't string some wins together in the 2nd half (if he stays healthy). He'd be a starter on a few teams today.

I doubt it comes to a buyout.

there are easily 2 teams that would trade for him if he was cheap

I think youre drastically underpaying Campbell here to. Of he keeps around those numbers its has to be more like 5.5 million

. . . and wouldn't you give him more term? Something like Freddie Andersen's $25 million, 5-year deal would seem appropriate (at the very least). He'll be getting offers from Edmonton and Colorado, you know.

I cannot see COL not retaining Kuemper after moving a 1st and top D prospect to get him. EDM might but not if they go out this season to address their goalie situation. I honestly see no chance Dubas let’s Campbell walk. IMO we are going to see a new deal before the season ends

Tbh people were just as certain about COL keeping Grubauer. That didn't happen because COL got clearly outbid.

I wouldn't be too surprised if Campbell wanted to see what he can fetch from the open market if TOR lowballs him or they once again lose in the first round. In that sense signing Mrazek was a misjudgment from Dubas' end.

I think all this revenue loss is not just going to affect Campbell's chance at a big payday but just about every free agent come the summer of 2022.

Not sure if you listened to the Nick Kyproeus(spelling?) show the other day...he made a comment on the players owing around 700 million to the owners because of all this revenue loss.

In short, doesn't sound like a good time to be a UFA in summer of 2022.

I absolutely agree signing Mrazek was a mistake or any goalie for that matter with the term given out, 3 years. I get that they wanted a 1A 1B tandem but committing any term to a goalie until what you knew what you had in Campbell.

But obviously just my personal opinion I don’t see Dubas letting Campbell go, he will either over pay with term and dollars or get a deal done that’s good for both sides. They will trade out the necessary pieces to make that happen.

Luke Fox did his job today, got some good click bait and peeps talking.

Buying out Mrazek would be stupid as all that dead cap makes 0 sense

Heres the more logical solution.

Trade Kerfoot then Buyout Ritchie.

Kerfoot with the way he has played has increased his value and being owed 700k after his bonus money is paid is an added bonus to teams wanting to save money.

Then we get to Ritchie whose buyout costs 300k year 1 then 1.1mill year 2 which can be worked around.

Replace Kerfoot with Ho-Sang and see which prospect impresses out of camp and your set.

Got a feeling next year we see

1 mill really aint a drastic underpayment lul.

If we look at his comparable's rn Saros got 5mill x 4 years, Lehner was putting up insane numbers got 5 mill x 5 years (discount taken), Demko 5mill x 5 years

To me I think Campbell gets a Lehner deal 5mill x 5 years. Leafs give him the extra year and he gets his money in the end.

Thats what im saying. Leafs have played like ass in front of him yet still came away with 2 wins lul. What more can he do.

I would still honestly rather keep him as lets say Campbell goes down with an injury and is out for a month. You want Woll to play multiple games...

Me personally no. Maybe a game or two but a whole string of games yeah no.

Despite his numbers I would trust Mrazek more as when healthy he is an incredible goalie. Remember Wsh vs. Car he was a beast that series and we need that.

3 games really aint a great basis to judge someone as remember Freddie. We ran him out of town after he was ass last season and look at him now

Grubauer is a good example of why Campbell would be better off considering fit instead chasing the highest dollar.

Not sure if you know much about Campbell's backstory, but being the next Grubauer is the last thing he'd want.

A team will certainly trade assets to acquire Ritchie. 26yo PWF who was drafted 10th overall not too long ago has value. I think NYR actually offered him more AAV than TOR did

Also, who is Lindholm at 4C?
