Yeah this is exactly what I was thinking and why it works, plus Pearson is one of Sutter's boys, adds value to the flames for sure. We could probably sell Monahan off to someone else (someone will bite if we're giving away picks) but the reason I propose VAN here is the pursuit of Pearson.

Canucks want to change their bottom 6 and add some scoring. Monahan although overpaid would certainly help address that, and the overpay doesn't seem so bad if they are able to move Pearson's contract. Add to that, the Canucks prospect pool is bare. Adding two second round picks in what is supposed to be a good draft makes this a no brainer for me.
