Dude, I just explained otherwise about Schmidt, didn't you read it?
Just from seeing how the team is playing, they look like the have that added sense of urgency in their game and that's why they won so many games. Knowing how much ground has to be made up to get back in line with the 8 ball, I don't see why they can't keep up that mentality and continue to perform as well as they have been doing
Neither of us know for sure, so there's no point attempting to convince each other of what he would like to do.
Still, Schmidt never had a chance to bond with this team. He wasn't a fit under Green's system, but he also wasn't a fit with the guys on our roster. We both know how he described his experience here - new management and internals or not, the wound is too fresh to think that he'd be beaming with joy to come back.

Blaming a teams lack of success on the absence of just one player? C'mon man
Why are you getting so defensive. I used the word "instability" here on purpose. Its not enough to blame the entire lack of team success, but it certainly is a factor. A team without any other DFDs, missing their best defenseman... Although there are other reasons why Philly isn't successful, it's gonna be difficult to convince me that they'd be exactly where they are right now with a healthy Ellis.
Imagine if Vancouver lost Hughes for 2 months. Sure he's better than Ellis, but are we a worse, better or equivalent team without Quinn. Same idea here.
