Quoting: Stanley_Cup_To_Manhattan
Lambert has some of the best pure skill in this draft out of the top 5 so I'm definitely hoping they select him.
I've been finding it pretty challenging to find a RHD within reason. Any ideas?
I too like Lambert, his skating, speed and hands look amazing. Even if he does not yet produce too much at the adult level, this does not bother me, he still needs to become stronger physically. I don't mind Adams picking it, it's just that our right side D looks bad and has almost no proven depth.
We need a defender who can play defense, if he can still be physical this is an additional plus. It is not necessary that he previously played 25 minutes per game.
Chychrun - It seems that Friedman recently reported that Buffalo is interested in Chychrun. The price will certainly be huge, but Chychrun has a lot of experience playing in the NHL on RD
Petry - not sure if he is good at defense
Severson - the term of the contract is short and probably would have to pay 1st FLA/VGK+
Murphy - Chicago recently signed a new contract with him, which means the price will also be rather big
Larsson - he has NTC
Roy - probably LA first traded Walker than Roy, but Adams can kick tires
Savard - seems to be having a bad season, but he looked decent in Columbus
Holl - Toronto fans trade it all the time, probably he not very good
Mayfield - He will probably be locked behind Pulock and Dobson, but I think he could very well play a top 4 role paired with Dahlin or Power, he was already regularly playing 20 minutes per game, the problem with his short-term contract, and if the Islanders are not close to the playoffs, they can trade him to contender for 1st+. Adams won't pay that price for a guy with a one-year contract.
Braun - cheap, but not sure if it fits the top 4
Manson - probably the only UFA who can be suitable for this role, although it seems his game is fall, maybe a contract for 2-3 years, even if he had to overpay with money
Jensen - He has been playing 20 minutes per game in Washington, does this guy seem to be able to play defensively?
Gudas - such a physical D could help
Peeke - I don't know much about this guy
Lyubushkin - I don't know much about this guy 2.0
Rutta - I don't know much about this guy 3.0
Hakaanpaa - I like this option, he is big and physical, it also has experience in playing in the top 4
Borgen - we already know this guy
This is an extended list, but there are plenty to choose from.
