The Zucker trade is not bad proposal. I don't know about his character "in the room" but could be a decent stop gap at that price.
But the thing is Ottawa might not have any openings, particularly in the forward group
Centers : Tim Stutzle, Josh Norris, Shane Pinto, Colin White (also RW), Nick Paul (also LW), Parker Kelly (also LW), Mark Kastelic (could be the 4th line center but not more)
LW : Brady Tkachuk, Alex Formenton, Ridly Greig (also C), Angus Crookshank, Roby Jarventie (won't bring him until he's 100% ready)
RW : Drake Batherson, ?????????, Connor Brown, Austin Watson, Egor Sokolov (won't bring him until he's 100% ready)
The real big hole is Top-6 RW. I know Connor Brown produces very well but he is not a top-6 forward, he's a matchup forward and pretty much all his offense comes at EV. The idea is to have a very strong top-9 and Connor on the "3rd line" definitely helps with that. Jason Zucker as the 2nd line RW DOES NOT.
Ottawa declines

It's a 3rd round pick for a solid top 6 winger only making 2.75.
Calm the f*ck down
Uh, very confused by this... You're telling someone who is calm to calm down by... swearing? lol

If you want a comparable, look at mike Hoffman being traded to FLA after OTT traded him to SJS. His value was higher because he was acquired for a price and a team won’t flip a player for less than acquired on a short time span (especially with retention)
No, this happened because Pierre Dorion was totally unqualified as a NHL GM (and still is)
Dorion didn't want to trade Hoffman East and he just got played by Wilson
