I disagree. Bourgault is too good to be traded for players that are rentals, and players that are not needed. Also, although Lehkonen is good, we have Foegele, so we don’t need another left shot third line winger.

The point is how to get the Oilers a legitimate shot at a cup. Most successful teams move 1st round picks for immediate help in order to bolster their roster for a cup run.

Yes we do, but I would not trade a good prospect in Bourgault for that! I would want better players for him. We may move our first, depending on where we are sitting at the deadline. Holland isn’t one to move a bunch of firsts, so we will see. I wouldn’t be mad if we moved a first for a few guys, but not a good prospect like Bourgault, or Holloway.

A 1st is just another prospect you haven't picked yet. If your mindset is to never trade a good prospect, you'll be left holding more players until they lose value, at which point they don't get you near what you need.
Keep one or two of your best, but spinning your wheels by rotating through them, is a disservice to McD and Edmonton fans.
Worry less about the "next best thing" and more about getting the greatest player in the game to the cup.
