Chipman and Cheveldayoff love Wheeler so I can't see them trading him. The best Jets fans can hope for is that Dave Lowry plays Wheeler in a middle six role.

Jets probably trade out a defenseman before they even think of a wheeler deal, especially a cap dump. Dillon/Schmidt/demelo one possibly two probably on the block at deadline if jets out of it, or in summer to make some cap room.

Certainly the Jets aren't going to ask NTC Wheeler to go to Ottawa this season. Now that might be a deal for in the summer. But gotta think Sens would prefer to spend 8.25m X 2 better than Wheeler...or else get a better deal from Jets.

Stanley/heinola/samberg coming up the left side, going to have to move atleast one to make a hole and some cap room for copp and Dubois contracts. Not saying it’s a great strategy with an all ready mediocre blue line, but being close to cap, there has to be some decisions on cap alone and nucleus going forward.
