I hate to say it cuz I love him as a player, but Kevin Fiala is officially overrated

He’s an elite top line forward, unless someone is calling him a top 10 winger I don’t see how he’s overrated

IMO Chychrun is one of the more overrated players on this site. He’s talked about like he’s a star #1 D when hes an average top pair D at best.

Lol, Fiala is not an elite top line forward, he a decent 1st liner at best, Chychrun is more of a debate due to him being a Yotes but he’s an above-average 1D

He is elite, one of the best possession forwards in the league, drives play at an elite level while playing with middle 6 talent. He’d have 75-85 pts playing with actual top 6 forwards.

Chychrun is not an above average 1D, he had one year with an unsustainable shooting percentage and people act like he’s a star

I know this has nothing to do with this post but I got Stuart Skinners young gun card yesterday

The key thing you’re missing here is that Fiala is sometimes elite. He has stretches where he’s a legitimate top line forward, and then stretches where he’s producing less than the average 3rd liner. He needs to work on his consistency and effort all the time to earn that status. He’s probably the streakiest player in the league.

It’s the typical trend on this site for guys like him to get overrated. I’d say Fiala is a very good top 6 forward. Probably wouldn’t crack the first line on many teams however. I agree that he is not the most consistent player.

He’s another Oliver Bjorkstrand who can be a good top 6 performer but man he’s super streaky

The difference there is Bjorkstrand is actually decent defensively, so he can hang in the top 6 even when he isn’t producing. Fiala sucks in his own end, so when he isn’t scoring, he’s a waste of a roster spot.

Well more guys came out but still dont meet requirements so unsure about Wednesday but Dubas thinks they can play then but unless Scott and another Dman come back we dont meet the minimun.

Anyways glad some guys are healthy
