Your kidding right! The 2023 1st alone will be top 10 again since very little was changed between this year's lineup and the proposed one. Dvorak + Harris alone would get Porrier and Anderson without us throwing in Norlinder and the 1st. Andersons value is what a 2nd and Poirier is maybe a late 1st. Yeah this is a serious overpay.

He may be worth more to the Flames than a 2nd since they are trying to contend but his market value is a 2nd. No sense in adding a top 10 pick and a top 4D prospect on top of Dvorak and Harris. I agree the fit isn't there but the value is also off

He is a lot like Chiarot who is also only worth a 2nd but contending teams will pay more especially with retention and since he is set to become a UFA. Montreal paying a 1st + middle 6 C + 2 top 4 D prospects is ridiculous overpay

Not for a team looking to rebuild/retool it makes little sense. Also look at it from Calgary's POV, they are in the same position we were last year. They are in a playoff spot looking to contend but you think they will give up one of their key top 4 D just cause are being ridiculous and are willing to overpay significantly. No Anderson os more valuable to them then futures right now.

Anderson is not a top pairing D, last year he was being given away on this site cause he sucked this year he is all of a sudden a top pairing D. Talk about rose coloured glasses my friend. Like I said above his market value would be a 2nd much like Chiarot's but since Chiarot is a UFA and we would retain we could ask for a 1st from contenders. Anderson is on a long term contract something contenders aren't looking for and Calgary wouldn't retain so there is no value for contenders. As for non contenders the 1st's are lottery tickets for Bedard so none of them are worth giving up for Anderson so you are looking at a 2nd maybe 2 2nds max.

I would say forget trying to acquire players from contenders they won't give them up until at least the offseason. Also Montreal will not be trading 1st round picks for at least the next 4 years unless it is for someone truly elite and under 22 to fit in their window.

Because we have Fowler and Lindholm at LD. If the trade deadline arrives and we don't have a commitment from Lindholm that he's re-signing, either we'll still be in contention for a playoff spot (in which case we'll keep him) or we won't, in which case we won't be acquiring Chiarot and that first-round draft pick will have even more value.
