chychrun is essentially the player broberg will become but is signed to a value contract for the remainder of drats contract.

This would ensure we have a top 4 of

Chych-Ceci

which would be absolutely massive.

the 4th line is somethinig i have been wanting for a long time. Seeing marody playing and making an impact in limited minutes against seatttle made me wonder why we havnt given this guy a shot. He has all the tools and has been great in the AHL. HIs XGF% and HDCF% was great in limited mins.

that doesnt get the job done, Kassian holds 0 value, Yamo is a nice pick up, but broberg and a 1st isn't going to be enough to close the deal. The teams who are in on Chychrun can easily beat that offer

I think other teams can match this pretty easily. LA for instance.

And that bottom 6 is really bad, the 3rd line is barely a 4th line on a playoff team. There's simply too much money tied to the defense. McDavid and Draisaitl can't carry the whole team through the playoffs.

I'm not suggesting we do it, I'm saying that's what Arizona will be asking. They're under no obligation to move him, and with the team friendly contract the ask will be astronomical.

Edmonton has a pretty weak bottom 6 if they start getting rid of guys like yamamoto.

You are making another problem to solve a problem that only exists for maybe 1 more year.

Why should the Oilers even be in on Chychrun? Look at cap for 22/23. Nurse is getting a 4m plus raise, RFAs to sign and geez is Klefblom returning?
And really the Oilers just not be make the playoffs this year even with Chychrun. They shouldn't be risking lottery first rounders.
