We didn't sign Alex Edler for one year and give him an NMC just to trade him. Moreover, if all you offer us for him is a third, wewon't even bother asking him to waive his NMC.

who else needs a goalkeeper from the teams that make it into the playoffs, maybe Washington, but I doubt they'll offer you a first round for Flary. If you refuse, it's okay, we have a good trio of goalkeepers Smith, Koskinen, Skinner.

I guess Los Angeles won't make the playoffs. And what is the point for you to keep an additional month of Edler in your composition, and in the end get zero in return, it is not clear. A debatable question, it is possible to give instead of the third and fifth, the second, but no more. For example, round 2 of 2023.

More? Well, for example, we can offer prospectus B-C, but no more. Don't forget this is just a rental. For example, a choice of Safin, Soderlund, Siikanen, Mazura, Lindewall, Denezkin.

If he specifically says only EDM then ya I can see it but JP is still lighting it up and I’m sure 6+ teams will be in the market for him

None of which are cup winning goalies or battle tested even remotely close to Flowers. Toronto is another candidate. Flowers will have a market no different then Lehner did when he was traded. Chicago's not taking back more cap for what are nothing more then dumps to get a late 2nd rounder and a late 4th while eating more cap on the player they are trading who happens to be one of the best playoff goalies in the league. Flowers on his own is worth a late 2nd ala Lehner, asking to take cap back along with retention costs more.

He’s nearly a PPG player this year. Even as a rental, he’s going to have a lot of playoff teams interested in trading for him. Dallas should easily be able to land a 1st Round Pick & a good prospect for him, simply due to the fact that teams are going to have overpay in order to beat offers from other teams.

The Kings are only 3 points behind Edmonton right now. Why would they trade Edler to them? If it is near the trade deadline and the Kings are not in the race, maybe. Edler has been fantastic with teaching the Kings young D secrets of the trade which is invaluable

For sure the Kings don't trade him unless they're clearly sellers and with the full NMC, he would have to want to go. From the Oilers side, he's a much better target than paying a 1st for Chiarot.

I wouldn't have Toronto as a candidate, Campbell is currently in the running for the Vezina. They'll be looking to do cap gymnastics elsewhere... they'd have to move Mrazek to make it work which would be more onerous to take on than Koskinen due to term. I think if Edmonton and Chicago were to do something like this, there would be no Turris involved and Chicago would retain $2.5mil on Fleury to just even out the cap hits for the last 1/4 of the season.

All trades are expected on a deadline, of course, taking into account if the kings are very low from the playoff zone
