That's a whole lot of decent for one elite player. Gotta come to the table with Jarvis to make it happen.

A huge package of decent can be a strong return, as well, especially since Suzuki's ceiling is still really high and Chychrun is not currently playing at an elite level. Carolina's one of the few contending teams that can actually afford losing Jarvis without mortgaging their future, though.

He’s on a team that is purposely tanking of course he isn’t going to look good this year

Which is a big reason why I think it would be a bad idea to trade Chychrun now unless he's demanding one. Anyways, for that reason, I think that a more likely trade target for Carolina is one of the Seattle defenders.

I'd say replace Cotton, Mattheos, Keane and Poturalski with something actually desirable. These guys add little to nothing to this trade, Zona would just go crashing through the contract limit.

As one guy above already mentioned, I think Jarvis must be included. Dunno if Canes would bite then though, but that'd likely be the demand.

Keane actually has trade value, but I agree about the others. The ones that I was thinking with true trade value were Suzuki, Bokk, Keane, 2023 1st, and 2023 2nd. The only way Arizona acquires the others is if Carolina takes contracts back.

Just curious, but what do you think about this kind of offer

Arizona Coyotes
Brady Skjei
Seth Jarvis
Ryan Suzuki
2023 1st round pick (CAR)
2024 2nd round pick (CAR)

Carolina Hurricanes
Jakob Chychrun
Phil Kessel ($3,400,000 salary retained)

Here, Canes receive a long-term star D-man in Chychrun, and also a rental veteran winger for their playoff run this year in exchange to a bigger contract going other way alongside futures.

Poturalski is now a PPG NHL player. Second thoughts? sarcasm

Except, his underlying numbers are down the toilet. He's got worse numbers defensive than Gostisbehere... he's not been good. That's the long and short of it.

Except it never happens. And with good reason. 8 for 1 trades aren’t a thing.
