Pacific:
1. Calgary [y]
2. Vegas [x]
3. Edmonton [x]
4. Anaheim
5. Vancouver
6. Los Angeles
7. San Jose
8. Seattle

I merely have Calgary winning the Pacific more due to Vegas not having enough runway to catch up to the Flames. I think the Flames could be a deadline away from being a genuine contender but I honestly struggle to expect any team to actually beat Vegas in a playoff series this offseason. Edmonton continues their slide as the underlying roster issues continue to plague their aimless management. I think the Ducks cool off a bit and the Canucks rebound to about what they should be expected to be under Boudreau. The Kings are still biding their time with their prospects and I think San Jose ultimately sells on the season and commits to a rebuild as better offers come in for Hertl and they continue to lose ground on the division. Seattle remains a tire fire.

Central:
1. Minnesota [z]
2. Colorado [x]
3. St. Louis [x]
4. Winnipeg [x]
5. Nashville [x]
6. Dallas
7. Chicago
8. Houston

I'd expect some sort of correction out of Nashville and Winnipeg that produces this result but ultimately I don't think there's much in the way for hot-takery here. Dallas, despite figuring its goaltending out, is still going to be in that sea of mediocrity until they actually make a move up front. St. Louis will be fine the rest of the way but I can't not see them getting bulldozed by either the Avalanche or Wild regardless of where they finish. Tall order to come out of this division alive. Not sure if the Avalanche will catch the Wild come season's end but there's going to be some phenomenal postseason hockey coming out of this division. Obligatory Arizona to Houston, which I suspect will be announced as soon as the regular season ends. Chicago can't compete in this division, even with better coaching, and ultimately they'll lose out on the draft lottery and the #6 pick to the Blue Jackets.

Metropolitan:
1. Carolina [y]
2. Washington [x]
3. New York R. [x]
4. Pittsburgh [x]
5. New York I.
6. New Jersey
7. Columbus
8. Philadelphia

Philly commits to the nosedive and it'll ultimately net them Wright in the draft by way of lottery. Everything behind the bench is ultimately re-assessed and they'll finally be good next year, right? Not expecting much but a small correction to the playoff order which favours the Capitals having home ice to the Rangers, Henrik Lundqvist rolls in his grave. I think once the Islanders get healthy they'll have a torrid run up to the deadline, make a small add, but ultimately miss out on the promised land, probably by a matter of a point or two. Columbus should correct once they sell some pieces but New Jersey will stay the course before looking to add in the offseason. For some reason I'm suspecting the Penguins will limp into the offseason, maybe at full health, but they won't stand a snowball's chance in hell against either division winner. Some tough decisions are going to be made in Pittsburgh this summer, and I think their window may be officially closed by the end of next season.

Atlantic:
1. Florida [P]
2. Tampa Bay [x]
3. Toronto [x]
4. Boston [x]
5. Detroit
6. Ottawa
7. Buffalo
8. Montreal

Regrettably, we won't get another redux of the Bruins punking the Leafs in seven games (I want nothing more than a hockey fan to see THAT Dangle reaction). We'll have to contend with Tampa beating the brakes off of "Canada's Team" instead. For what it's worth, I wouldn't expect this outcome next season and fully believe that despite the memes, all the Leafs will need to do next year is stay the course. They have a great team, they just play in the best division. I don't think Montreal recovers, in fact I think they kick off their proper rebuild at this deadline. Detroit probably finishes with .500 hockey down the stretch, which should be an excellent sign for Yzerman and company. Buffalo falls below the Sens just due to losing more pieces at the deadline; I don't think Ottawa moves a guy like Connor Brown until the draft at the earliest. This'll probably be Boston's last hurrah in the playoffs for a couple of seasons, at least until Swayman takes over for Ullmark full-time and the Bruins figure out their pivots.
