I don't think there's anyone coming from Detroit there that is worth a 1st, let alone adding in Holloway. If I'm the Oilers, I'm not paying to dump Koskinen and Turris, unless there's a serious upgrade coming back. Ned+Leddy+Pius is an upgrade, but it's more of a quantity>quality thing.

I feel like Ned could be a great long term pickup for the Oilers, as well as Leddy and Suter being very good depth additions but the price is pretty high.

Leddy for a second is fair imo. He was traded for a second and Panik (cap dump) do with retention I think a second is reasonable.

Imo, take out Holloway or the first, and Ryan and maybe it gets closer?

One could argue that taking that 1st helps Edmonton because Holland picks outside of the 1st round do better than his 1st rd picks do. Except for Larkin but they say even a blind squirrel finds a nut every now and then.

Rough deal for the Oilers. I am all for moving any futures to bulk up this team for a playoff run, but Holloway is a non-starter in any deal. They guy has all the makings of a top line winger. On his ELC for the next few years is infinitely valuable for a team as tight against the cap as the Oilers. Nobody in that deal comes even close to being a tempting option.

Nedeljkovic is the one guy i'd be interested in, so open to hearing what he would cost.

Leddy is nice, but I see him and Keith as pretty similar players. Don't necessarily want 2 of them in the lineup.

Suter is an interesting target for 3C and if his price is reasonable (ie. Turris + 3rd or 4th?) i'd take a run. But I would hope Holland goes after a more established and offensive 3C. Suter would be an ok fall back emergency plan.

Overall in this deal, I just don't see how you can justify a 1st, 2nd and Holloway for that package. With their contracts, Turris and Ryan don't have any positive or negative value. They just exist. Koskinen is a must include in any deal bringing back so again, not like its negative value.

There is for oilers that are near the cap and need players on entry level deals. He is untouchable, especially for that package. Holloway is born and raised in Edmonton and has very high upside. Untouchable

Holloway will not be traded. Nor will Ned. Doesn't make sense for the Oilers to move their future 2nd or 3rd line center and doesn't make sense for the Wings to trade their starter

Holloway and Bourgault say hi.

Holloway's D+1 numbers in NCAA were superior to Larkin's. Bourgault was 1st in goals and 3rd in points in the QMJHL when he left for the WJC.

I repeat, no player in the NHL is “untouchable”. If Gretzky can be traded then so can a prospect who has never seen the NHL ice. Untouchable <> require overpayment. I’m not saying Edmonton should do this trade but rather this notion of “untouchable” isn’t a real thing. The born and raised really doesn’t mean to much to the coach/GM trying to safe their job but it does mean something to the owner/marketing. If a team called for Larkin and gave an overpayment for him then cya. Stanley Cups aren’t won based on birth certificates.

The NCAA experienced inflated scoring similar to the AHL due to Covid. No doubt Holloway is a promising comparison but it isn’t exactly 1:1 comparison there.

I wouldnt just give leddy at 50% reduction as well as nedeljkovic who’s also got another season which would basically cost the oilers 1.5 cap space and suter who’s locked for next season as well for bad contracts a 1st and a 2nd. We’re eating up salary , trading you valuable pieces as well as taking on 3 contracts id want more than that . Its all good seems fans on both sides dont like the deal

With cossa coming in a few years im not as attached to nedeljkovic as some fans seem to be
