Every Sens fan on this site needs to get it through their heads ... Grioux aint coming home! He's chasing a Cup! This team is a couple seasons away from being a contender (if managment/ownership doesnt scrw it up). Next year Sens expectations should be getting into the playoffs. Giroux near the end of his career is not going to join a franchise mid build.
Gambell, Watson & Gaudette way too much money for ECHL quality players. There are home grown guys in the system that are cheaper and better and more deserving of a roster spot then those over paid plugs (Ridley & Sokolov)
lol what the crap is this? If GambRell, Watson and Gaudette are ECHL level players, then this post is very low level. I am by no means their fan but I am a fan of calling a spade a spade
This management does a lot of wrong (we're on their backs like Canucks fans were with Benning) but if there's one thing they do well, it's drafting and developing. RidlY Greig and Sokolov will join when they are ready. Greig is not even 20 y/o and like everybody, hasn't played a ton of hockey because of covid
I don't know what is inside Giroux head but Ottawa has a lot of great pieces. I think they have the worst trio ownership/GM/coaching by far so there's always them to possibly screw everything up but they have The Magnificent Seven™ :
Thomas Chabot
Drake Batherson
Brady Tkachuk
Josh Norris
Tim Stutzle
Shane Pinto
Jake Sanderson
Pinto and Sanderson will make a huge difference when healthy/available. And behind them, there's Artem Zub and Connor Brown who are also pretty good hockey players. Success is coming, it could have been easier and faster consider the weath Dorion inherited but with his ineptude... it is what it is.
If Giroux believes he has a few good years left, it wouldn't necessarily be a bad idea. But yeah, maybe I wouldn't be looking forward to play in that market and for that owner.
