price was one of the best in the world. hasn't been for years tho. now hes got off ice issues to go with a bad contract, aging, and regression.

How has goal tending been their achilles? Was it when a 3rd goalie was playing after the top 2 got hurt and the Avs were starting 3 AHL defenseman against the Stars, oh wait it was when Kadri got suspended, and the top line disappeared for 2 games against VGK. Revisionist much?

Even if Grubaur and Francoiuz were healthy it’s wouldn’t have made a difference both are not good goalies and Kuemper has struggled this year aswell they won’t make it past round 2 unless they get an elite goalie

Both years locked format and the bubble montreal wouldnt have made the playoffs. So all this he is worth so much now bc he had a few good playoff games despite being brutal in the series they lost. Hes not some sort of cup missing piece. Hes a goalie that got hot for a few weeks, then came down crashing to earth to his below average ways

Probably over a dozen other goalies I would rather have over a 34 year old Carey Price who is declining rapidly.

rask, markstrom, hellebuyck, bishop, varlamov, sorokin, bobrovsky, gibson want me to keep going? price in his last 5 years of hockey has been very inconsistent not to mention his injury issues, you have to do good in the regular season to make playoffs and quite frankly price hasnt been good in regular season since 2016-17 this is a bad deal for av's. his amazing playoff run wouldn't have happened if the divisions were normal canadians record had them like 5th in the atlantic and even though that doesn't sound awful the 4 teams ahead of them were still all on pace to have 14+ more wins then canadians. canadians were on pace for 35 wins while B's, leafs, tampa and florida all were on pace for 50 so in reality montreals whole run was just luck because we had to switch divisions. price is good but you can't have a goalie who only wants to try for 2 months out of the year. i believe av's best option is too look at acquiring varlamov again. varlamov was arguably the most important piece to Isle's run last season

i am all of those goalies have had way more playoff and regular season success then price in the last 5 years exception to gibson but look at his team, if gibson was on a playoff contender the last few years he probably would be a top 6 goalie in the league. price is the most overrated goalie in the league one playoff run doesn't change the fact that he has been average at best the last few years previous too. 22 games of consistency out of 200+ games doesn't make you some top asset, varlamov has been consistent the last 3 seaons the only reason he isn't looking as hot this year is well look at the islanders this year they can't score and they have played 5+ games with their ahl squad
