But like Chicago is happy with Hagel so he’s pretty much an untouchable not quite one but relatively close to one

Ok I see your perspective but still Hagel on the 3rd line with Kampf and Kase would provide us with the scoring prowess we need to compliment Kampf defensive game. Other than the 1st would you take SDA instead of Rindell?

That’s only a benefit for you guys where’s the real benefit for us? The first rounder? It’s pretty pointless because well Toronto is Toronto.

I offered one of our better prospects instead of Rindell. I offered SDA who’s NHL ready in every aspect other than size. Solid shot, good skating, great playmaking.

It’s fair offer. Rindell is a good offensive dman prospect that shoots right, which your team lacks after trading boqist. Will need some work on the defensive side but he’s a no seen day offensive dman in the making

Hagel is on a different level in terms of trade value to a lot of the others on the roster. He would require a substantial overpay. Cap and Term are really friendly and he can literally play with anybody and hustle. It will take a lot more than a late 1st and prospect we have a heap of.

Can't see hagel being traded unless the hawks are blown away by an offer. This ain't it. It'd honestly probably be easier to get kubalik than hagel at this point.

Sorry but SDA, doesn't move the needle on this trade.

Ok then what’s a “fair trade” for Hagel. Obviously a 2022 1st JT what else?

Its not going to be a fair trade, we are going to need to be overpaid to part with Hagel.

But that’s not how trades are made when it comes to players. Trades are made on the stance of the organization. Are they rebuilding, retooling or contending. It’s better to cash in on assets before they deplete and Hagel will deplete in value by mid season mark when Kubalik starts playing better and etc.

Y’all have an organizational choice. Invest in the former 30 goal scorer or they player you think Hagel can be. The big part there is “can”

Or just keep both.

Keeping both makes zero sense as you’re left wing depth is Debrincat, Kubalik and Hagel when other needs are present like they lack of young talent coming into support the team and the development of prospects like Strome, and Nylander

Keeping both makes perfect sense. The hawks have always liked to spread the scoring out on 3 lines. There are plenty other players they can trade without trading a heart and soul player like hagel.

Have you seen the state of our organisation, we are a mess and don't know whether its rebuild, retool or contend. The last thing we need to be doing is giving up good assets who are cap controlled and of the right age to be involved in all 3 of those scenarios. Unfortunately I could see a Kubs sell at TDL but I don't see a Hagel move. He is 23 and on good cap and term, no point moving him.
