        Yeah, worked out great eh?

I don't expect them to stop trying it. That's why I targetted a guy with two years. Brown does the same thing, for longer, and cheaper. He's already liked in Toronto and fills one of the 3 commonly visited needs on here (3W, 3C, 3rd pair D)

he’s 33 years old relegated to back up with an 886 S%
yes it’s 5 games and yes he has a solid history of well above average tending, even last year 2.08 GAA and 929 S% but there has to be a reason he only has 5 games this year, yes Sorokin is good, but he’s not that much better than val has been for a long time… i think he might be injured, or aging. but unless he starts turing things around i don’t see him getting as much as he would have last year. which would have been a 1st and a high level prospect.

So a 33 year old Folino to the leafs last year for a 1st and 4th - a 3rd line winger. But a proven goalie in the regular season and playoffs only get maybe a 2nd?? great logic

Varly the last 2 seasons with a .929 and .919 save pct% - ok sure.

        Varly last year

        4th in league with a 2.04 GAA
2nd in league with a .928 save pct
        1st in shutouts with 7

you literally dont understand the issue here is the cap hit.

if you want a first, the team will be retaining a noteworthy amount of cap.

only like 2 teams can afford him and are in the market otherwise.

Foligno's contract was $5.5M when Toronto traded for him and give up a 1st and 4th. I'm well aware of the cap issues
If Isles are retaining salary, I would want a similiar return that Columbus got for Foligno (a 1st and ________)

Foligno was half retained by Columbus and then further retained another quarter lol. The islanders aren't half retaining Varlamov. 2m in empty money will kill them.

Nick Paul isn't going to get that much from DC, the Capitals are already trying to play the prospects (Leason, Protas, McMichael, etc), so I don't think they are going to try and add more players to bottleneck development. Ottawa would have to look elsewhere for that trade to happen.

Look him up, and his Domestic violence arrest

You mean the trial where he was cleared of all charges by a jury of his peers? I don't see when any gm would have had to explain anything, they traded for someone who is a good goalie. A gm would have to explain if they traded for someone like Voynov, not if they traded for Varlamov.
