I don't think Sanheim has much value, otherwise he wouldn't have been signed to a contract that walks him straight to UFA status. They're also getting a 3rd rounder to take on Myers and Poolman, and we all know how it is with Lindblom

I don't see how the Avs say no, Jost isn't playing well, Aube-Kubel was a waivers pickup, and Maltsev isn't getting any time in the majors

they need 2 + firsts to take on Myers and Poolman... Jost does not need to score to be playing well. Watch hockey instead of being a stat sheet merchant. jost plays such an important role for them and at such a low cost they are not trading him for 2 cap dumps. Delusional nucks fan lol

two 1st rounders is way too much to unload Myers and Poolman, just because they're overpaid doesn't mean they don't still bring value to a roster. No more than a 2nd rounder should be needed to sweeten dumping either contract. I never said Jost's problem was that he isn't scoring, I simply heard from someone else that he needs a change of scenery

lol i agree that this deal isn't appealing to the flyers - I say this as someone who is a fan of both teams.

Myers is still very much so a top 4 defenseman and is constantly blown out of proportions as to how bad he is. He is often used too much, but when he gets less than or equal 20 mins a game, he's fine. That's not something you pay two firsts to dump LOL. Poolman is fine on his contract too.

Where Myers doesn't carry trade value (and as such VAN keeps him), he certainly doesn't cost THAT MUCH to dump.

--

We get fleeced in the Calgary trade, and then we fleece the Avs. Trades very very rarely contain this many assets, so I have to deduct points regarding realism.

Jost is their top PK guy and he is playing well, he is on pace for his career point avgs, that is who is he as a player, a defensive specialist, so thats no coreret to say he isnt playing well
Maltsev is being developed in the AHL and tearing it up
Aube-Kubel is a good player, despite a waiver claim he is a legit Bottom 6 fwd with offensive pop to game

Pearson has an awful contract for a bottom 6 player and has poor underlying numbers . Chiasson is a guy you signed off a PTO who legit only does one thing, be on the PP and nothing else, he sucks in a bottom 6 role

That is why this is an easy decline by the avs

Pearson's contract is fine, and he is NOT a bottom six forward, he's a smart middle six forward with decent scoring touch. Nobody respects Pearson or his game for some strange reason, but he's a good player as well

Hes not a 2nd line talent, Hes a 3rd liner. He fits in your bottom 6 not the top. he sucks defensively that is why no one respects his game. And what little offence he does bring does not outweigh how poor defensively he is

If you think Pearson is a defensive liability, then you have NOT watched him play, you are just making assumptions, because Pearson actually kills penalties, and don't bring up Vancouver's historically bad PK, because that doesn't rest on any individual player, that's another issue altogether that lies with the team as a whole. You're right that he ideally is not a 2nd line caliber winger, but he very much can step up onto the 2nd line when called to. And he is most certainly NOT an offensive black hole

im not making any assumptions, that is what his underlying numbers are saying. He is poor defensively. Numbers dont lie

he has 8 points on the season on a 25 point pace, he isnt even out producing Jost who is a 4C.

Well I actually watched him play and I can tell you he is fine defensively. Jost is producing at a 24-point pace. Pearson has two 20-goal seasons and three 40 point seasons under his belt, while Jost has barely reached a 30-point pace in all of his previous seasons. Pearson's having a slow season to start, but I can totally see him stepping up his production at any moment, and he's only 29, it's not like he's 34

Jost is producing what Pearson does with limited ice time in a defensively role and is outstanding defenisviely
What he did years ago isnt what he is now. Last year he had 18 points, this year he is on a 24 point pace. He isnt very good, hes not bad but at his contract value you can get a lore more out of a 3m player than what Pearson does

He is a below average winger, dont try to make it sound like hes some stud

Oh I doubt that, when it comes to 3M AAV players, you don't get much more than what Pearson brings, he doesn't excel in any particular facet of the game, but he brings a little bit of everything, that's why everybody undervalues him. You don't know what you're getting until you actually watch him play. Everybody forgets how Pearson has managed to revive his career with Vancouver

And maybe Jost should be getting more ice time to PROVE he has more in the tank than he is being allowed to show fourth. I don't read too deeply into time on ice when considering trade value

Dude let it go, Pearson isnt very good, hes not some stud, no one is agreeing with your trade, maybe you might just be wrong here

and you said when it comes to Pearson. you dont get much more than him....JT compher who had an awful season last year still outproduced Pearson, he is a 3m player. Yeah its very easy to get a better player at 3m aav than Pearson. Donskoi another example. Kerfoot another example. Lowry another example

NO! I know how good Pearson is, and I genuinely think you are undervaluing him. I don't hear anybody else agreeing with you. I watch him play game after game, so I know better than most people how good he is

the people on here who said avs would decline would be the ones agreeing with me

and just bc you watch him and you have a bias opinion on canucks players does not change what his actual measurable and trackable impacts are. Stats and numbers done lie no matter how badly you want to over look them bc you believe your personal opinion on a player holds more weight that actual measurable data

But how do I know you aren't biased? I can't know, because we can't get inside each others heads. We need a neutral opinion here because we can't even agree to disagree

what am I being biased towards, I have said the Avs players are what they are, Jost is a 4c who is good defensively, that is just facts of what he is.

There are neutral opinions in your thread from other fan bases who said Avs wont do that trade. You even have a canucks fan saying its a bias trade for the Cancuks fleecing the Avs

I dont know what more do you want, you are literally the definition of being bias towards your favourite teams players by saying they are better what they are bc you watch them.

There is only one other guy who said Avs decline and he didn't make any specific comment about Pearson whatsoever, that's not enough to go off of. You probably think every Canuck player is on a garbage contract, so I don't know why I even bother

You did indeed say earlier that Pearson has an awful contract, so at that point, I feel like all I can do is assume

All right, here, why don't you name some players who are on $3+million cap hits who bring more value than Pearson and let's see if I agree

Oh, I see, I missed it. Okay, first of all, Donskoi doesn't have a goal this season, just 12 assists in 24 games, and Kerfoot is playing with better players, so you could argue his stats are padded a little bit. I think those guys are both on about the same level as Pearson
