I'm not convinced MAF is an upgrade on Koskinen and Strome isn't worth a 1st. I think you'd have to downgrade that pick to get a deal done.

I think in this proposal, Turris is for Strome and Koskinen and a late 1st is for MAF 50% retained.

Mean't to retain half, my bad. Kempney 2.5 off the books plus Hagelin's 2.75 covers Kane at 5.25

MAF at 50% is only a $1M savings over Koskinen. How is that worth a 1at?

They are not even close to being equals. A hall of famer, reigning vezina winning goaltender that is, aside from those first 12 games in CHI before the coaching and GM change, still playing up to par with his former self, with worse D in front of him than he had in Vegas is $1m dollars cheaper than Koskinen...

They are very close to being equals this year. The past is the past, I could read off the long list of Duncan Keith's accomplishments and it would be very impressive, but not very relevant.

Pretty much all of Fleury's recent stretch of good play has come against very weak opponents, none of whom are going to be playoff teams. Koskinen had played well against many good teams, to this point he's actually been better than Fleury has. We'll see where they are at the deadline, but it doesn't make sense to pay a 1st to upgrade your backup goalie any time, and especially when it's debatable whether its even an upgrade. BTW, the Oilers 3rd goalie is posting fantastic numbers as a rookie this year, very likely Edmonton will spend its 1st on an area of need. Goaltending isn't an area of need.

      It's not debatable. But ok.
