Take a look at Edmonton's cap situation for 22/23. That doesn't work for them. Even if you were to retain 50%, they're still in a massive struggle to remain compliant (unless of course Keith retires...)

every MTL fan needs to do an EDM AGM before they make these trades even price at 50% retained makes it super tight on the cap
