How much would he cost

Description
Talking about Hartman, Rask is there to make the cap work.

This trade would be made when Vrana gets back, so that there's a replacement for Fabbri in the top 6. I know I'm buying high on Hartman, but I'm also assuming he drops back below a point per game by the time this trade occurs. He's good, but the shooting percentages don't lie. I'll be honest, I have no idea where the value is for this trade. I think the best comparison I can make is the Coleman trade, with a late first rounder and a prospect. Since the Wings this season are definitely worse than the Lightning were then, I dropped the pick down to a second rounder. Viro isn't as highly touted as Foote, but he's still a good prospect that I think fits the bill. Since the Wild are contending and would need good players coming back to make this trade worth it, I added Suter and Fabbri, who should fit in nicely. Rask is there to make the cap work, but I'm not sure if he has any value, whether it be positive or negative.

Again, I'm not sure what the value would work out to be, so let me know if you have any insights. If the Wild see him as an untouchable, that's fine, but I'd still like to know his value (and don't you dare say Seider/Raymond +).

I think he's untouchable to be perfectly honest. MIN is about to face an increasing cap hindrance due to Parise and Suter. They need Hartman the next two years more than ever.

If your serious about looking at it from the MIN point of view. It needs to be someone with the same or lower cap hit for 2 more years and playing just as well. You're going to have to think crazy assets in order to get him. Too crazy for DET to want to do.

Yeah, Minnesota's cap situation is the thing that makes this way harder than it could be. If the Wild still had Ryan Suter I'd happily do a Suter swap with Pius to get Hartman included in whatever package came back. What sucks is that in this situation the only forward on the Wings producing as well as Hartman with a cap hit that's the same or better would be Raymond, and at that point it's a no-go.

He's literally Figuratively untouchable. He signed a 3 years hometown, team friendly contract because he loves Minnesota . He's no on way available. If he was, which he isn't, thos doesn't come close

I thought Hartman was from South Carolina. Did he move to Minnesota when he was younger?

He literally took a hometown deal, that's what his contract is. That's the quote

For me the key thing is if Hartman is like Ryan Strome and legit entering his prime but just late... then good god almighty is he valuable to them lol

And heck he's still on a 60 point pace after accounting for sh% so what the heck maybe he's legit, if not tho it's really tough for Detroit there, giving up alot

It's funny I'm watching the pulp fiction coffee shop standoff while I type this and it reminds me a bit of that, a very crucial crossroads indeed

Since you're not answering my question, I looked into it a bit. He's from Hilton Head Island, SC, and he was raised in West Dundee, IL as a fan of the Chicago Blackhawks. The only other place I can see that he lived at before his NHL career was Ann Arbor, MI for the USNTDP. I don't see how this is a hometown deal unless you have some information that I don't.

He signed a 3 years team friendly extension deal for barely 1.5 becauseof his quote, " I love MIN, and I don't want to keep moving. I want to stay in the same place ."

It wasn’t a hometown discount. His gf/fiancé is from here, but other than that, he himself is from Carolina/Chicago. He just likes it here, but you’re correct in that there’s nothing hometown about it. Just a regular team friendly deal to stay put in a place he likes.

I don't think you understand what hometown means. Yes, it was a team-friendly extension, but it wasn't a "hometown deal". It looks more like he wants to stay with one team instead of bouncing around the league, and Minnesota is the place he wants to stay in. Not the place he was born or grew up in. Also, what do you mean "barely 1.5"? His contract is above $1.5mil, it's $1.7mil. I guess what I'm trying to say is that I understand the point you're trying to get across now, just that your wording of it is all jumbled up and it's throwing me off.

Yeah this season but before this season he had good numbers for a middle 6 forward. His cap hit along with his production so far this is why Minnesota won't be trading him.
