First off I think the Isles should fold in the season. They are not good enough to be a playoff team. Even if they make the playoffs by some miracle they can not beat any of their division opponents.
I would have try and fold the season to get a top pick in the draft then make a run at the playoffs which means giving up more future assets. They have to go through a retool. Bailey is invisible. Anders Lee is not himself like three years ago. He is too slow to keep up with Barzal. Palmeiri value has tanked in the last two years. Pageau looks like he is snake bitten maybe still recovering from an injury. Martin should not be a regular anymore. Clutterbuck should retire at the end of the season. Cizikas looks lost. Chara is a liability. They are missing a puck moving defenseman ( Devon Towes still haunts the organization to this day, stupid Trotz) Varlamov has no support around him and is still trying to condition himself from missing all the time from the injury. Nelson is injuried so our best scorer is out but his goal scoring is screwed because he scored like 4 goals in one game. Beauivillier looks streaky as ever. Greene game is outdated but at least he puts in effort. The isles should of never split up their top D pair
If it was not for Sorokin the Isles would get blown out every night, he is a true number #1
Trotz has to trust Dobson because he is shown flashes of a top 4 dman. Salo should play every night, who cares if he makes mistakes he is only 23yrs old Towes was 25 when he made the jump to the NHL. The isles neglect Wahlstrom he has potential to be a top six forward and the forward that has the most goals. A young forward will make mistakes but you must giving him the ice time to improve.
This is a development season so Trotz play the young guys and let the isles bottom out it will be more beneficial in the long run.
