Maybe, but then in the playoffs dragged this team to the Cup. Allen played well in the regular season, well enough to get this team that goes through excessively long droughts to the playoffs. Montreal's issue is the whole team, neither of the goalies.
Not arguing price literally dragging us to the cup or Allen being a very good back up
My questioning is A team taking Carey price and Allen hoping to have price play very dominant in the playoffs
First Allen has to play well for an entire season if price is hurt and what do they do about his back up? If price is healthy he has to play well for an entire season which I’m not sure you should bank your playoffs hopes on
Thirdly price has to be healthy come playoff time and then play out of his mind
I’m in no way shape or form doubting Carey Price’s ability to go on a playoff run if healthy, but he has to be healthy.
I just don’t see why an up and coming team with a lot of its core locked up, would take a chance on Price
As I mentioned above maybe in two trade deadlines or in two off-seasons when price has two or two and a half years then a team might take the swing
I just think 4 years is too risky especially for a team like Edmonton
