Détails additionnels:
So hear me out, say Jeff Gorton does become the Canadiens official GM, is Cole Caufield really his type of player? Honestly I’m not so sure, but it seems that Caufield’s struggles with the team have put the relationship between the two sides at somewhat of a crossroads. A change of scenery could do wonders for Caufield and the Rangers need a right wing goal scorer. Meanwhile, the Rangers and Vitali Kravtsov are completely at odds and while there might be a very small chance that Kravtsov is a Ranger at the end of all this, my gut feeling is that he’s still traded. Gorton drafted Kravtsov so reuniting the two seems to make perfect sense. All of this in mind, a one for one Hockey trade between these two teams and trading top prospects to one another could be a move that both teams could explore and both teams could evenly benefit from it. To me this is a very fair trade. No advantage for either side and no need to add anything else in the trade. It’s a good hockey trade.

I disagree. Kravtsov and Caufield are pretty equal in terms of their ceilings. They just both need a change of scenery to unlock their potentials.

Caufield is probably closer to Laf than he is to Kravtsov.

Gorton also decided Kravtsov wasnt going to be in the NHL on different occasions.
Plus, he was fired from the Rangers. why is he doing them any favors?

lol c'mon. Caufield is worth more than double of what Kravtsov is. Kravtsov hasn't produced consistently in the KHL until this year (8 games) and Caufield has produced in every level he's been in, minus the NHL this year for some reason

Except that Caufield has shown flashes of brilliance, while Kravtsov has shown only flashes of inflated ego, plus he's a virtual stranger to North American hockey. I can see Gorton trading a second for Kravtsov, even given his apparent antipathy for him, but not Caufield.

as an outsider to both teams I have to agree with the Montreal fans here. Caufield needs to work on his game a little bit he is FAR closer to the NHL and to top 6 play than Krav.
Montreal would be smart to be patient with him and work with him. same should be said for The Rangers and Krav.

Well, if you think that Kravtsov has the same upside as Caufield, then God bless you. And I hope he fulfills that promise and your hope playing for the Rangers, while proving wrong all those (including in the NY front office) who didn't believe in him.

I disagree with this. However the hype around Caufield is untenable at this time, would be impossible to do something like this and survive the firestorm in MTL. Kid has to fail a few times for it be considered.

Kravtsov has had his fair share of hype as well. But I think he has a longer way to go prove himself worthy of his draft slot.

He just needs a chance at the NHL level. He looked great last season until moved to the 4th line.
He looks great in the KHL this season too. Last year he developed a well rounded game.

The Rangers know this, and said they are not taking a discounted return for him. Comparable russian players were not in the NHL at his age, either.

He had a chance at NHL last season. Had 2 goals, 2 secondary assists in 20 games. He was last in team in expected goals for, expected goals for %, Scoring chances for %, High danger chances for % , 2nd-to-last in Corsi, 12th in shots/60. And, as you mentioned, was dropped to 4th line.

In the KHL, he had a good playoff run in his draft year and a good couple of weeks to start last year. Other than that, he hasn't been anything special (over 5 seasons).

Caufield has played 12 games or so in his rookie season. There is no chance he needs a “change of scenery”. That happens after a few years of being with a team or being stuck in the minors. Not in your first season. Very different situations and gorton would get fired very fast if he made that deal one for one

I hope you understand that point production on an international ice surface works very differently from point production on a Northern American ice surface. In the KHL or any other major European league for that matter, 1 point is basically equivalent to 4 points in any of the CHL leagues and the USHL, 3 points at the college level, 2 points in the AHL, and 1.5 points in the NHL. So in his draft year, Kravtsov had 7 points in 35 games. That’s equivalent to 28 points at the CHL junior level and that’s in just over half the amount of games, which means in a full 68 game season in either the OHL or QMJHL that year he’d have finished with about 54 points, and in a 72 game WHL season in 2017-18, he finishes with about 58 points which is relatively consistent even if not eye popping. In 2018-19, he finished with 21 points in 50 games which equates to 84 points in 50 games and about 114 points in 68 CHL games. 2019-20 was a weird year because he bounced all over the place and then he just outright didn’t play for a short time so I’ll admit that that wasn’t a good season for him but I can write that off as a mulligan. Now at this point he would have well graduated from the CHL so now we do the AHL as a comparison. In 49 KHL games in 2020-21 he had 24 points which is equivalent to 48 points in the AHL, but the Hartford Wolf Pack only played 24 games that season so had he played in the AHL that year, if we round up the point percentage he finishes with 24 points at a point per game pace. However, had they played a full 76 game season, he finishes with 74 points. Then if you want to factor this season in and the pace that he and Caufield are playing at, Caufield already has 5 points in 6 AHL games, but Kravtsov has 6 points in 8 KHL games which would equate to 12 AHL points and 9 in the same number of games as Caufield. So not only is Kravtsov having a better season than Caufield so far this season, but your claim about Kravtsov not producing consistently up until this season makes no sense outside of the 2019-20 season. In fact just to further prove my point, Alex Ovechkin only had 24 points in 53 games in his draft year of 2003-04 and he went 1st overall. But I guess having only 24 points in 53 games means he didn’t produce consistently right? So why’d he go 1st overall then? Well because that’s equivalent to 96 points in the North American junior leagues. That means that had he played in the OHL, he would’ve finished with 123 points in 68 games, 127 points in 70 QMJHL games, and 130 points in 72 WHL games and mind you this was pre-KHL. Plus, Kravtsov is achieving his career junior numbers almost single handedly. Caufield had the benefit of playing with guys like Jack Hughes, Alex Turcotte, Trevor Zegras, and Matthew Boldy rotating as his line mates which helped him score as many goals and achieve as many points as he did. If Kravtsov has teammates like that playing with him, then his point totals are probably even higher than what I just mentioned. So yeah, Kravtsov has produced very consistently and their ceilings are equal. Drops mic.

Nope

Caufield was key in MTL going to their first SCF since 1993
He finished 3rd in team scoring with his line mates just ahead of him
He took his small summer time off and didnt train until showing up 5 days before camp with the rookies.
He was out at best ball games and concerts with his family the Habs Twitter kept posting his pictures.

Factor he starts slow
He did in NCAA, Last year he started in AHL, picked up speed in the end of the regular season then heated up in the playoffs
I think even if he came to camp after training all summer he'd still end up having a slow start

Its why he's a Pacioretty type at best not an Ovechkin or Kane
More of a potential 50-65 point player then a 80-90 point player

Besides NYR was doing everything to move the young russian
He's already moved back to Russia after failing to report to his AHL team leading to a suspension
Like lias Anderson NYR have devalued another 1st round pick by alienating him

Anderson only ended up getting NYR a late 2nd round pick 4 spots from being a 3rd rounder.
Kratsov in North America has a lot more to prove then Anderson did IMO making him worth a 3rd rounder at best.

NYR were reported to be shopping him for a 2nd pick before they loaned him to Traktor. Didn't get anyone to bite. So I think that is right.
