Rasmussen + 2nd would be a good core return for someone like Alex Romanov hopefully they don't use it to acquire a guy who can be replaced in FA

For much cheaper than his current contract

Or they could be used in a package for an elite asset

It’s for Josh Anderson not Romanov.

As a habs fan I like Anderson, but this seems like a good offer. What's the background on Rasmussen?

I like Anderson alot as a player but the contract is a turn off. No sense paying for georgiev , they'll sign a older vet to back up ned. I think they move leddy and fabbri at the deadline.

He was just saying that Rasmussen and a 2nd is worth more than Anderson.

What about that Georgiev trade? He has 4.08 GAA and .858 SV%. I'd rather bring Howard out of retirement than give up any assets for Georgiev.

It just seems moot to bring that up with Detroit’s LD pipeline and obviously Montreal’s desire to retain Romanov. GMs are going to value Anderson as he’s a prototypical power forward and there aren’t many left in the game (maybe 10 league wide?). I wouldn’t mind adding him to our roster but I don’t value Rasmussen too highly.

Haha, I remember telling this to NYR fans last year.

SV% by year for him .918, .914, .910, .905, .858 (still early)

I get it, I doubt anyone guessed getting Ned for what we paid or getting a Cossa/Wallstedt level prospect with our second pick. Goalie values are strange too unless your a proven young goalie. Before Georgiev it was Murray from Pitt fans and they didn’t like my response either. You win some and you lose some especially when predicting future outcomes. This will be a very pivotal year for our rebuild so looking forward to see what Steve has up his sleeves.

Yeah but we didn't give up much for Ned plus he wanted to be in Detroit because of his girlfriend. So he was dropped in our lap.

Yeah, goalies are voodoo. I was just trying to get a right handed player on each line and trying a different look than UFAs.

I like Ras, he's still pretty young and reliable, but Blashill doesn't use him on the PP which should be his thing. I'd like to see him getting to the front of the net more, he has a big body and he was pretty good at screening and tipping when he was in the WHL.
