I like it, though I'd trust Hague on the first pairing more than Sandin. Four years is a good term, he stays an RFA and he should definitely be worth that price by around halfway into the contract. Toronto may have a slightly easier time clearing cap for him than Vegas would with Hague, but they're both good offer sheet options with a good chance of working.

It would definitely make it difficult for TOR, but I still think they could handle it. Most likely they'd have to trade Muzzin (could be of interest to a number of teams), and potentially Mrazek (ARI, BUF, maybe PHI or EDM, etc.), to make it work. And alternatively, if it forces TOR to trade one of their big 4 forwards, maybe it's about time anyway. Interesting idea though -- definitely some potential for an OS there.

Agreed, I also think Sandin would be more tempted to sign if Toronto were to lose out early again. He would be guaranteed at least second pair minutes instead of third in Toronto and he would be going to a team that will be poised to compete during his prime years. Toronto could be potentially rebuilding at that time.

Sandin should absolutely get offer sheeted and Detroit is the perfect team to do it. This is a really good idea

So i think staal is looking his age this year but bringing ddk back another year is likely i think. Id take jvr for sure. The offer sheet is a good idea in this case I think. We need the ld for sure amd sandin is a couple years ahead of our guys development wise.

I don't mind the idea of doing an offer sheet for Hague as well, I really don't think we are signing any significant free agents at LD this season unless we really over pay and to me it's not worth it
