Washington just used a 2nd round pick to get Vanecek back, why trade him

Keep Vanacek & Hagelin. Dallas needs to trade a goalie without getting one in return & they have no need for Hagelin. Just give the Stars a 3rd & it's fair.

The 2nd round pick came from the Dillion trade. I think they wanted to see which goalie would finally take the lead job. Which looks Like Samsonov is the guy, but I think Washington prefers a veteran backing him up and who better then Holtby in that Role.

This only makes sense if Holtby is going to start in the playoffs. If not, then we keep Vanecek and either re-sign him or deal him for a similar price to what we paid.

Our struggling PK has killed 16 of the last 17 and we scored two short handed goals during that stretch. Keep your cap dump
