Is this per game minimum x# of games? Or combined throughout the season?
I believe that point shares are calculated on a game-to-game basis, and they're a counting stat, not an average. My source for this was hockey reference, and they list offensive point shares, defensive point shares, and total point shares for each player. I'm not sure how they're calculated, but I tend to keep them in mind when comparing players instead of just going straight to the points column. It allows me to see both sides of a player's game, and while they're not perfect, they're a good counting statistic to look at when comparing players and their impacts on both ends of the ice.

Yeah it's a total, so it is off when games played is not equal. I have never had the patience to read through the calculation, lol.
Is this something like NST's IPP? Individual Points Percentage - basically the number of points a player has divided by the number of goals he was on-ice for.

Best of luck to you. If you actually make it through, please come back here and explain it to me, ha ha.
Thanks. It's nothing like IPP, it's more like WAR.
Yeah that's the sense I get. I look at these but tend to gravitate more toward CF%, xGF%, and try to qualitatively account for ozone start % in those. It's just more intuitive for me. Maybe one day I'll get to a point where I like the WAR or point share more, but I'm not there yet.
