MacKinnon is expected back on Wednesday vs Toronto. I would assume he retakes his place on their top line.

With Kadri and the rest of the 2nd line playing well, Newhook seems to be in a comfortable spot at 3C. I would guess his wings will be some combo of Jost, O’Connor, or Aube-Kubel with the odd man out dropping to the 4th line. Maybe Bednar gets creative and tries Nichushkin-Newhook-O’Connor on a more permanent basis; they played together briefly against Ottawa and produced the GWG.

The power play will be interesting. With MacKinnon & Compher out, they put Burakovsky and Kadri in those spots respectively on PP1 and both have played well. I’d like to see them keep Kadri in the bumper spot on PP1 permanently, but they seem to like a right-shot there. I’d also like to see Burakovsky stay on the left side of the ice on PP2 instead of the right side. He seems much more comfortable on his strong side, and he doesn’t take a lot of one-timers anyway.
