Mode - plafond salarial: Basique

Description

Canes - all in for this year, rely on ability to find good prospects in later rounds. Joe P provides a much needed net front presence on the PP and flexibility within the forward lines. Klingberg gives a solid defensive game and another PP QB along with Tony D. Canes have cap space moving forward to re-sign Klingberg or find a replacement in the offseason.

Stars - draft picks and a defenseman with term. Trocheck can be re-signed to add center depth in the future. Suzuki is a great prospect to continue to bring along in the AHL.

Drop Trocheck, Pavelski and Dallas picks from the trade, replace Skjei with Bear and retain half of Klingberg's salary and I'd take it. Stars have no need for Skjei, they'd much prefer having a RHD coming back. Half retained Klingberg for Bear+Suzuki+1st+2nd is something I'd be willing to take.

That’s fair. I think with the Stars being only a few points out of a wild card things are convoluted. If things start to slip, and Klingberg isn’t any closer to an extension, maybe things might change.

I think I'd just be worried about that next contract. The reported ask is a friggin' dangerous amount to give to a 30+ year old. That being said, I'd also be happy to have him on my team on a reasonably reasonable contract.
