Not interested in Petersson, so no thank you. I think he’s a great player but I want to rebuild this correctly and bringing in a another floundering team’s 1C probably isn’t the best idea. Plus Mitts and Jokiharju are a part of our young core.

If we wanted Murray, we would of taken him off waivers; our goalie coach probably isn’t a fan of Murray from their time in Pittsburgh

Personally I'm not interested in Pettersson on the Sabres. Value in that trade isn't good for Vancouver. Honestly they would ask for Power and probably more which is ridiculous. I think more realistically would be Quinn, Samuelsson, the better of the Florida and Vegas 1sts, and someone like Mittelstadt. Definitely not worth it for Buffalo imo

Putting a struggling goalie on a bad team is not a "perfect fit". Also not close on either trade.

Sabre fans are in love with Jokiharju and hate Myers.
I would never presume any of Mittelstadt, Thompson, Cozens or Krebs will produce as well as Pettersson but Sabre fans are comfortable with the devil they know.

You do realize you're getting the equilavalent of a first and a third just to take Murray.

I would do that regardless of if he bounces back or not. It's only 2 more years so won't affect Power or 2022 1st re-signing.

The Petterson trade isn't happening so you'd have ~10mil extra in cap (factoring in replacements) on top of the already free 10mil. So harm in taking on Murray's 6mil for free assets.

This is also why there's no chance Ott does this. They don't need to give up assets to clear cap.
