Appleton would be nice to have back, but he has done nothing to be worth a former 1st round pick in return. A 4th or lower though would be fine.

He hasn't been given much of a chance. As I said I don't mind getting Appleton back, but there is zero reason to drastically overpay for him. He's not really a difference maker.

I think you are overrating Vesa. It’s his D+3 (?) year and hasn’t really proven anything with any consistency. He’s had flashes of talent but we know what Apples is and what he brings. Copp/Lowry/Apples would be great to have back

Tbf to Apples, the only reason why he has done nothing is because he is injured...I doubt that they will trade him

Agree with @Windjammer here, a 4th or later pick would be fine for Appleton but he isn't worth much more than that nor is he worth giving up on Vesalainen for, I get the change of scenery idea but why give up on a former 1st round pick for a bottom six guy who really isn't worth much more then a 4th, at most a 3rd round pick.

Not saying Vesalainen will be as good as Pulujarvi but there were many that figured the Oilers should just swap him for whatever 3rd liner they could get or a 2nd round pick if they could get even that much and those people were wrong. Just don't think it's worth throwing a guy away just cause he hasn't hit his stride, he's been good defensively and adds some size to the lineup, if anything I'd want to try Vesalainen on the same line as Appleton if he was reaquired.
