This is actually scary. The only weak spot on this team is Jarry and it’s not even really a weak spot.

The problem is you can’t just keep a player on LTIR. Once he is cleared he will have to come back. Even if you could, do you really think a guy in a contract year and coming off a dreadful year would agree to that? I highly doubt it.

I’d say DeSmith is the weak spot. If Jarry gets hurt during the playoffs all the talent in the world couldn’t get the pens a win with how DeSmith has played.

Didn't they fix the loophole? Now the roster you put on the ice has to be under the cap I beleive, even in the playoffs.

Buffalo EASILY passes imo
Olofsson has developed into a 30+ goal scorer
And with him being an RFA at the end of the year, there’s just no reason to trade him
Those prospects aren’t close to the quality to pry him away imo

U can have Miller for a 2nd though i guess

I mean last year y’all outplayed NYI but couldn’t get a save. However I do think other than Carolina this is probably the deepest team in the league if Malkin came back for the playoffs with the roster created

As @MauriceArthur15 correctly pointed out "This is actually scary."
With that remark, I presume you expect that second to be very late and nearly a third.
Does that seem to be the correct value for a RHD whose points rank 14th best among ALL NHL RHD?
That offer is not enough, nor correct assets, Buffalo needs RHD and LW if Olofsson is traded.
Buffalo has more than sufficient LHD depth (Dahlin, Power, Bryson, Samuelsson, Johnson and Pilut (yes he is still a Sabre prospect).
Buffalo appears to have solid depth at RW with Tuch, Thompson, Quinn, and Peterka.

So Pittsburgh is offering a late 2nd, a LHD who performs well in the AHL, but cannot crack the NHL line up, and RW who has 6 pts in 18 AHL games.
I would hardly call this all in.
Buffalo would pass with prejudice!

Not only that, but Oloffson is playing at a pace of 30g 50a over a fully healthy 82 game season. Why would we give up an rfa who’s performing like that for scraps? Especially because we need players like him to shelter the kids as they come up next year.
